EVANSVILLE — A box truck discovered Thursday submerged in a lake in Bluegrass Fish & Wildlife Area in western Warrick County turned out to be stolen more than two years ago from Vanderburgh County.
The truck and $20,000 worth of welding equipment, generators and other equipment were reported stolen Nov. 3, 2009, from Bauer’s Tent and Fast Structure.
Diane Bauer-Shaw, vice president of Bauer’s Tents, said she had written the truck off as long gone, but a few days after the theft she received an anonymous tip concerning who committed the theft and where the missing equipment and truck could be found.
