Body found in Green-Sullvan State Forest

DUGGER, Ind. (WISH) – Indiana Conservation Officers discovered a dead body in the Green-Sullivan State Forest Thursday morning, officials from the Department of Natural Resources said.

Officials were only identifying the body as a white man Thursday afternoon, pending notification of family members.

The man was found in the Green-Sullivan State Forest Dugger Unit, an area of the forest that is a reclaimed coal mine. Officers were searching after a report of a missing person. They found the missing person’s vehicle, then began searching around Bass Lake. Officers found the body around 9:20 a.m.
